LA Thym wears many hats. United States Air Force Veteran. IT Engineer with over 20 years of experience. Breast cancer survivor. However, it’s her role as the owner of Restoration Hero, where she helps breathe new life into her customer’s most treasured possessions that fills her with the most pride.
LA’s passion for restoration and refinishing first began to take shape when the Miami-native enrolled in a woodworking class in middle school. Delving deeper into her craft over the years, Restoration Hero was born, the name drawing from both her passion for renewal and a nod to her time in the military. Relying primarily on word-of-mouth initially, LA has quickly become one of Atlanta’s top-rated furniture restoration businesses, garnering mentions in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Restoration Hero also counts the late Civil Rights pioneer and U.S. Representative John Lewis as a satisfied customer, with her work appearing on Lewis’ 2020 documentary John Lewis: Good Trouble, in addition to The History Channel’s upcoming reality series, Secret Restoration
